I take it back. The Motel 6 is just $80 that night, Orleans almost double that.

For one night, with the close proximity, it's exactly what OP wants.

Because of the limited time frame, I wanted something on the Strip. My goal is to play at the Venetian and then crash between 5 or 6 and noon.

I thought the $3hr comps at the IP expire after 6 months? (Not exactly sure of the timeframe....just remember they do expire)

From the original post, I saw it as:

1. Arrive in Vegas.

2. Go to Venetian, play until 5 or 6.

3. Sack out till noon.

4. Go to MGM.

It makes perfect sense to go to the Tropicana Motel 6 in step 2.5. To only save 9 bucks however, it's not worth choosing over IP. That's very spendy for a Motel 6.

Comps at most places expire if you don't visit now and then. Harrah's generic policy for Harrah's/Paris/Bally's/Caesars is if you have no activity for 6mo your comps expire. But you don't have to use 'em within 6mo, just make a visit. Don't know if spending comps counts as activity, but one might hope so. I ain't sat in the IP poker room probably since the buyout, but when I visit Burger Palace I'll drop $5 into a nickle machine and watch the sportsbook TV's while waiting for my steak sandwich to get to medium rare, so my IP card is showing some activity. And my comps are still there.
