Re: AK or JJ facing open push
It is occassionally correct given the specific circumstances, probably more so with AK than JJ.

[censored] that i'm never folding AK to an open push - who open pushes AA or KK? [/ QUOTE ] If someone has a M of less than 7 then it is very standard for them to open push with AA/KK. I have folded AKs preflop in a live tournament for an open bet of 4x the BB. It is a play that I rarely make but it was certaintly correct in the scenario that I made it (I had an M of around 15 and the tightest player at the table had raised UTG+1. He probably would not fold to my pf push and he would not pay me off with an A or K on the flop unless he had a set or better.) |

Re: AK or JJ facing open push
Of course. Here's a few examples ...
1) Against a tight nitty player. 2) Deepstacked. 3) Satellite/Bubble situations where it would be correct to fold any two 4) In Live MTT's where you just "feel" that your opponent is all too comfortable with his holdings. 5) If It's bubble time, I'm the big stack, and the shortest stack is raising all-in with just me to act. Here I'll fold to keep the smallest stack alive and reep the blind steals in future hands. etc etc There are way more general scenarios where I'll fold AKo over JJ. AKo is severley over valued in the eyes of many 2+2ers. People don't realize that given a range of any pair and AKo Hero is almost a 40/60 dog. |

There are, but they don't come around often.
