wtf? are you ppl out of your mind? stop seeing it from a young adult prospective. id say 90% of ppl in USA over age 35 dont know who 50cent is. prolly overseas it is 98%.
secondly; Oprah has books, tv show, radio and magazine. she has also starred in movies. # 1 form of media not only in usa, but worldwide is tv , followed by internet (in usa). Oprah pawns 50cent in terms of tv b/c she has daily show. imo this reaches a munch wider audience than a music video every 4 hours. id say ratio is 4:1 worldwide. oprah x4 per every 50cent person. and finally, the most important reason you have overlooked; anyone who knows who 50cent is will know who Oprah is. id say at least 70% would know. other 30% being young 10 year olds or total air heads. for the record; i hate Oprah.

I think if we were talking about an actress instead of Oprah it would be completely different.
People throughout the world watch Hollywood movies, but I don't think Oprah is seen that much outside of N. America. I'd be curious if some of the posters from Scandinavia have heard of Oprah, or if her show is seen over there.

[/ QUOTE ] FWIW they started showing Oprah here as a daytime show a few months ago and I would say Conan is approximately 20 times as famous as she is, though maybe this is biased because Conan did all those Finland extras. Overall I'd say in Finland the name 50 cent is more widely reckognized than Oprah.
