But I do think that the river [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] helps this play a lot [/ QUOTE ] Because he won't 3-bet a straight? If that's not it, I'm not sure I understand why. |

Re: See what I did here?
Much better, I could NEVER fold AA in the other hand.
When I read about someone seriously thinking about raising planning to fold a real hand like AA to a reraise as in the first hand, I wonder if there's something important missing in my game or if you guys are suffering from FPS. |

When I read about someone seriously thinking about raising planning to fold a real hand like AA to a reraise as in the first hand, I wonder if there's something important missing in my game or if you guys are suffering from FPS. [/ QUOTE ] Well, he's pretty passive. So a) he's not raising the turn with something that I'm ahead of very often, and b) he's not 3betting the river with something I'm ahead of very often. I really didn't think he could 3bet that river with 2pair, and probably not even a straight. The flush did come in. Maybe he's got MUBS and is afraid I have a 2 somehow. Or maybe he's correctly reading me for an overpair and he only has 2pair, assuming that he can't raise because he's behind. But I thought he could only 3bet river with a FH or a straight (flush was unlikely). I suppose it's possible that he can 3bet QT here (which makes folding anywhere wrong), so I would have to raise/call. So check/calling is probably better. But at the time, I just assumed he wouldn't 3bet without a huge hand. He called and flipped up T9 (PFR?!). I was pretty happy. |

[/ QUOTE ] Ya, on the river we're beating a lot of the hands Villain c/r'd with on the turn, just not a set or a flush if he is one of those guys who C/Rs the turn with a flush draw. Raising if you can fold to a three bet is probably OK as long as you can do that on the end in a big pot for one more bet. It has to be true that it's a rare Donkey that would Three-Bet you on that river without a flush, boat or quads. |
