W Virginia/Pitt?
So what are peoples' thoughts on this game? Right now I'm leaning toward taking Pitt and the 11 points at home. Based on the fact that (I think) the public is 2-1 on the over, I'm also liking the under. Pitt and WV actually tend to play pretty close games at Pitt. Two years ago Pitt won 16-13. Two years before that it was WV 24-17. The o/u is sitting at 51.5 at most places right now and 52 or 53 at others even.
Pitt has lost three straight now and while they're not as good as their top 25 ranking mid-season, they're not as bad as the team that lost to UConn and S FLA. I think Pitt will be pumped for this game, as will the fans. The only thing I worry about is that Pitt has been hit kind of hard by injuries. Any thoughts? Edit: This reminds me. Does anyone know of any articles discussing the key numbers for o/u lines? I've tried to find them and haven't had any luck. I just wonder because I'm looking at the o/u numbers tonight and see Bodog with under 52 at -115 and Pinney with under 51 at -102. No idea if there's enough value to make taking the 52 worth it, but my gut says no. |

Re: W Virginia/Pitt?
Was just reading it. Apparently we agree on the under but differ on the line. Still not sure about taking the points though, especially after seeing someone else's analysis go the other way.

Re: W Virginia/Pitt?
What else would you tease? I could see taking WV and under 57 or 58. With someone mentioning thunderstorms I'm liking the under a bit more now.

Yeah WVU and the Under...yeah it was storming this morning..cleared up a little bit...but it's starting to get dark out again. I work at Heinz Field so this is weather from the stadium.

Re: W Virginia/Pitt?
I'm actually starting to second guess myself. WV has scored less than 40 points only 3 times this year and under 30 points only once. I can't see Pitt being the team to stop them with their injuries, weather or no weather.

Re: W Virginia/Pitt?
took the old sucker teaser WVU -5 u58. Sky is dark as hell...let's go hurricane.
Plus WVU had a cupcake schedule. The only team they put 40+ points up against that is respectable is Maryland. To each his own but I really can't see 52 points scored in the weather thats coming. |
