Checky check check, that was an ugly card, now even the lowly J has outdrawn you.

Re: 5/10: Marginal hand/turn decision.
grunch-
seems like you're going to want to put at least another bet into this pot. If so, I'd probably go ahead and put it into the turn hoping to win right there and if not possibly see a free showdown on the river. If you don't bet the turn, you'll probably get bet into on the river in which case you'll want to call anyway. |

Re: 5/10: Marginal hand/turn decision.
Okay, seems like I may be wrong in my assessment.
Someone teach me, if you check the turn, seems like the BB or UTG is likely to bet into you on the river no matter what. Are you going to fold to a river bet? If not, wouldn't a bet on the turn make sense. If you get 3 bet you fold, and if you get called you fold to a river donk or if no river bet take the free showdown? Is my plan totally stupid? |

Re: 5/10: Marginal hand/turn decision.
do you really think a pair of nines on this board is going to come out on top? you check the turn because you'll probably be reraised and you'll be forced to fold (dont waste your money). and yes you will fold to a river bet. even donks wouldnt bet this board as a bluff. especially at 5/10. maybe at .05/.10 you'll see someone make a mistake like that, but not here. and yes a free showdown is all you could hope for.

Thanks for your response, which makes sense. My hand reading needs a lot of work.
