50/1 KK - How do you read these hands?
is 50-100 high stakes?
playing some limit because i'm on tilt and since i can't go all in i figure it will save me money. anyway, 5 handed online - i know nothing about anyone - 3rd hand at table. CO opens, button 3 bets i cap K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] from SB both call. flop 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] i bet, CO raises, button calls, i 3-bet, call, call. turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] i bet, CO raises, button calls, i 3 bet, call call. river 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] i bet, both call. i assume my play is standard - let me know if not, but i'm really more interested in how you would read these guys hands throughout - especially before seeing what happens on the river. after the hand i kind of felt like either they are both terrible or i really don't understand limit. |

I dont think you have enough equity to 3-bet turn.
His range should be around 33,66,99,JJ-AA imo. |

Looks pretty standard.
I'd guess JJ/TT for button and QQ-AA for co but based on the fact you posted this co probably had A9 and btn 78s. |

Turn 3 bet is a spew.

Re: 50/1 KK - How do you read these hands?
3 bet turn is overplayed. You capped preflop against bet and 3 bet from 2 different players. You 3 bet flop and get raised on the turn. You are beat most of the time after the turn raise, the 3 bet is overplayed!

IMO the turn 3 bet is definitely pushing the edge, but I don't think it should be considered a spew. Some reads on the opponents would be helpful.

[ QUOTE ]
Turn 3 bet is a spew. [/ QUOTE ] i know that's the part of the hand that's not standard, but i feel like everyone thinks it's a spew b/c of the CO's action, whereas i was actually ahead of him - my question i guess centers on whether or not the actions of the button look like a hand that has us beat? |

Re: 50/1 KK - How do you read these hands?
Calling a flop 3bet to raise the turn after heavy preflop action on a draw lite board is one line that just about is never a semi bluff. He virtually always believes that he has value.
But the presence of the third guy makes it much less clear cut. From the flop play id say that he may be slowplaying. But when he still just calls the turn, it looks like he just wants to go to showdown as cheaply as possible with a worse overpair, or some weak pair+draw combo. And he is absolutely obligated to call the 3bet because of the size of the pot (if he folds, this is even better than him calling drawing live). I also do not think that you get necessarily get 4bet by AA on the turn, which is the most likely holding that beats you. (on second thought, maybe not...) You also said that you're playing this game because you're tilting to avoid osing too much at the NL tables. And i have no doubt that is apparent from previous hands, meaning theyll play back at you with less. |
