Default $38 6 Man: TT in Blind Battle Early

65/35 payout

I think this hand needs to be treated differently because people treat blind battles differently.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

CO (t630)
Button (t2770)
SB (t1640)
Hero (t1525)
UTG (t1225)
MP (t1210)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
4 folds, SB raises to t90, Hero raises to t270, SB raises to t1640, Hero?

My thinking here is that his re-raising range is probably wider than normal because we're in the blinds. I think he would probably make a smaller raise w/ QQ+. I'm thinking his range is probably AK, JJ, and some smaller pairs. Donks at this level would do this with AQ & some other Ax hands but I don't know if he's a donk. What range do you put an unknown on here? Do you call?

I expect to see AK here a lot. Did he push instantly? I probably call but am busy opening another couple of games in the meantime

I was 8 tableing and didn't really catch if he pushed instantly. I wouldn't push too much stock in that tell anyway that it would change my decision.

i'd fold. too much beats me here, and i don't like coinflipping this early in a sng. i know it's tough to lay down TT when you see donks pushing you all in with 55 or 88 all day long, but there is very big chance it's two overs or a dominating pair. just not worth it this early IMO.

But if we consider all of the hands he's pushing with that we have dominated doesn't that make this a call? I actually don't think 2 overs is that likely here. AK, maybe AQ, possibly some other Ax hands, depending on how donkish they are. However, I really think JJ is the best pair we will see this page made with on a regular basis. Therefore, we are dominating a lot of hands in his range, dominated by one, and a coin flip against some possible others.

Yucky spot for me. Do you have any kind of read on SB? 38s are a regular structure so you must have some sort of early stats on him. My default would be to fold though but could easily be talked into calling if I had any inkling he was a below average player.

In a BvB pot I call. Way too often guys assume you have air because it's BvB and push with trash. Also going up against AK or AQ here isn't the end of the world with all that overlay and being a slight favorite.

I don't have any stats on this guy. I don't play many $38s anywhere, only what I have to to fill the tables. Therefore, there's a lot of donks I don't have stats on. My thinking was that against an unknown we don't see AA-QQ here very often. They're almost always making a smaller raise.

any other blind battles or anything? table dynamics?

absolutely readless im inclined to shove/call, simply cause his range is opened up in the blinds and im sure 6 handed tables are generally a lot more aggressive in this light, but i guess just flip a coin.

What about the merit of this argument:

These 38s are non-turbos and have a long structure. If this were a turbo I think I would call, whereas since this a slower structure, the "find a better spot later" comes to mind.
