There's a big big difference between someone capable of floating and someone capable of bluff-pushing the river. I think this bet needs to be a block, but I prefer betting the turn, then cc the river.

Why bet turn and check river? Are you planning on folding to a large bet? At this level, are we inducing more bluffs at the river? I would think AJ or KQ would be happy to make it to a cheaper SD - in that case we're losing value with our TPTK if the river gets checked through.

To me, it seems like we're more likely to be bluff-raised or bluff-bet on the turn - which is why I like the turn check.

Also, isn't this a pretty large blocking bet?

I agree with Grunch - my standard line is to lead turn and then cc river - is that a leak?

I kinda like a river cc if he bets big and a cr if he bets small.

if villain doesn't suck and there's no history, do you really expect him to pay off a river cr?

(note: i know villain probably sucks -- just thinking here)

Probably, I'm not representing anything and my line makes no sense.

No that is not at all a leak. I play the hand like that 100% of the time. You should post way way more.

note: and c/r river is awful!

well, the board only has one draw that i can see (QT) -- wouldn't it be reasonable for one to play a set like this?

I've never seen anyone play a set like this and I don't think it would be a good line. We could have cc the turn with a hand like AJ or QQ.

out of curiosity, what's wrong with taking this line with a set? AK/KQ check behind on the river?

It's bad for metagame and it gives too many opportunities to check, yeah.

Just an experiment to get turn value from a potential float. My line probably confused him. He took forever on the river to make a decision and finally called with KQ and MHIG.
