Default First day of kind of sort of going a little bit pro

I have doctor's orders to take leave from work, and the way things are going it is doubtful I will be going back for any significant length of time. I don't know what my next career move will be, but I know I won't be diving into anything too quickly. So I'm turning to poker to provide a what cash it can for the time being.

Before the ordinary cautions rise up, please know the following:

1) I have a good deal of money I set aside, knowing this was a possibility. I have the bankroll I believe I need online, half that again in a bank account, and three months worth of expenses.

2) I have a wife who works and is paid well -- not enough for us to live in luxury, but enough to get us by even if I make nothing. Her work also provides medical and dental benefits.

So, on to the brag. This was day number one, involving about five hours of no limit ring games (2/4 and 3/6) and a $30+R tournament on ipoker.

Ring games:

After that, I took down 1st in the donkament for $2300. I was really playing it for a shot at the "Tournament Titan" promotion, to win a seat at a 20 player tournament with a million prize pool. I FT'd by chance on the weekend, and thought I'd try to donk my way again. One more FT and it's a guaranteed $25K and a shot at $200K for me.

All in all, not a bad first day.

Sounds like you have a pretty good setup to take a shot. Good luck.

If anyone knows of a converter for Titan (ipoker) hands I would post them. One fairly simple one, nothing special about my play, just a fine hand, a good read, and the wisdom not to be so damn tight:

$3/$6
Ultralag opens to $24 UTG, folded to me in SB with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], I raise to $76, ultralag insta-pushes for $517, I agonize, slap myself, and call (I haven't been long playing at this level).

Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

River J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Ultralag shows A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and MHIG.
