Does Tournament Play Aid Cash Skill?
I've been playing primarily cash no limit hold 'em. I am now focusing on low limit tourneys to gain more experience while I build my bankroll. I'd like to hear from the tournament players how advantageous would it be for me to focus on tourneys for a year before returning to cash games.
thanks. |

I'm a good specimen for how it does the exact opposite.

Re: Does Tournament Play Aid Cash Skill?
I'm gonna say yes. Learning cash has helped my tourney game and continuing to play and learn tourney strategy has helped my cash game.
Like most players I started in SnGs moved to MTTs and have now found my way to cash games even though I still play quite a lot of MTTs. Continuing to improve your poker skills will help no matter what. |

Learning cash has helped my tourney game [/ QUOTE ] Well I don't think anyone here would argue with that. It's the reverse that most are saying no to. |

[/ QUOTE ] There are plenty of things I've learned for MTTs that have improved my cash game. Obviously you have to be able to use your judgement as to what those things are but learning MTT strategy won't hurt your cash game... IMO. |
