I would re-raise. Too strong and too vulnerable a hand to just call.

Raising the turn here is horrible.
Krantz, On a blank rvr I chk & let him dig further. On a scare rvr I'd evaluate his river bet vs his style and proceed from there. |

Im in the raise turn camp, just stack sizes are weird for that.

i'm 90% sure he bets a set, straight, two pair or spades on the flop (also overpairs). [/ QUOTE ] Does this mean you are 90% sure he has air, a single high spade, or 9x here? I don't play this high; tell me though, is it safe to assume that villain almost never has Jx here? (besides maybe J9) This seems an impossible line for even the best non-boat J (AsJx); first of all checking the flop would be idiotic, and then on the turn he would be turning his hand into a bluff no? (and also risking reopening and getting shoved off his hand) Therefore while I can't comment on 3/4 of your river scenarios, I think I would (having called the turn bet obv) be 1/2 pot bet/folding a J river every single time. But please correct me if I'm wrong about the possibilities of aggro and/or tricky HSNL hu players having a J here a decent amount of the time. |

Re: trip 9s on my mind- 25/50 HU
he can definitely check a jack back on the flop, so yeah, he either has air, a spade, a jack or 9x most of the time

This is such a marginal situation given stack sizes. My intuition would be to call the turn bet and then check call the river. I just believe reraising the turn sucks because you would leave yourself a tough spot on the river. Although is raising the turn terrible given the strength of your hand and the drawiness of the board. What would be done on a J992 board+ flush draw. Check/calling here better? |

For this to be correct, your image needs to be that of a complete maniac, OR he is doing this with a flush draw or a hand like AT or QT a good portion of the time. You're folding out everything else and I dont think many other hands are going to call this reraise. MAYBE T9 and 89 call you here, if you're laggy enough and they dislike folding. but if a bad card hits the river, you cant even play against these hands for max value. my two cents; i dont think turn reraising is the key, betting the turn though is right. So, fold or call the turn? Im leaning to call. c/c the river? I think so UNLESS a third flush comes out and he seems strong still or unless a high A or K falls off that isnt a flush. I would bet out here. -Joo |
