Default Any hunters here?

Haven't seen this posted this season. Wondering who in OOT is going hunting, has already hunted, where, stuff like that. I'm heading up to my grandparents' cabin this weekend for some good ole' whitetail hunting. It'll be my little brother's first time now that he's old enough and it'll be my first in about 3 years.

Feel free to add any pictures of your hunts!

Life time stats? How many hunting trips have you been on and how many times have you killed a deer? (is a white tail a type of deer? it sounds sort of like a fish)

I've probably been on 7 or 8 trips. Have only shot 2 deer, both does. I forgot to mention that the place I'll be hunting is near Post Lake (about a half hour north of Antigo for WI folks).

This is a whitetail:

I use to hunt when I was younger.. rabbit, squirrel, and pheasant. I know a huge number of guys that hunt deer, but I never really considered it hunting. Sitting in a tree and waiting for something to walk close enough to shoot never really struck me as "hunting".

I used to hunt everything - fur, fuzz, or feathers. Then, I went off to college and was only able to hunt during rifle season, since we got that week off from school. Since I graduated and moved, I haven't done anything. I kind of wish I could get back into bowhunting, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

I went hunting twice, both times with a bow, and both times I shot deer, a doe and a buck. That was when I was 12, and I haven't been hunting since. And in fact, I've even become a vegetarian. *shrug* Hunting is just what you do when you're 12 years old and in Wisconsin; I didn't know any better.

I like guns but I've never hunted. None of my friends hunt and it's kind of a daunting thing to just pick up and do. There seems to be licensing involved, seasons in which you can bow hunt but not shoot deer, etc. It's too complicated.
