Raising less than T90 is really bad.

No, it's really not.

What about limping?

I usually only raise with QQ, KK, AA and AK. Pairs I always limp.

We raise to get value from our hand because it figures to be the best hand.
We raise to thin the field a bit. While JJ still does good multi-way, in a SnG we do not want multi-way pots because cEV != EV.
The more money you get in the pot with the best hand, the better.

If you raise to T120 and get 1 caller you can still keep the pot small (if you wish) the same as if you raised to T90 or T75.

And giving your opponents good implied odds when you have a very good hand is just foolish. I'll call your T75 raise all day with 33 but I'll give it up if it's going to cost me 120.

Does NL theory suddenly not apply in the SnG environment?

Yeah, ok, raising is good for thinning the field and getting value from our hand. No argument there. The point I'm making is that it is not, under any circumstances, "really bad" as you claimed to raise less than 3BB. That's just complete rubbish! If you're at all competent then you can get away from your hand if you're beat, and we're not playing against people like ourselves who will be thinking "I won't call 120 with 33", we're playing against people who will think "I have 98s, I feel lucky, it's only 120, I call".

I can see it going either way (small raise/larger raise) but personally I prefer to get more chips in the pot before 98s realizes he has no chance of winning.

Yeah, but the point is at a $6 it's not just one donk calling t120 with trash, it'll be about 4 of them. Then where you are on a Q97 flop is anyone's guess, and you have a nice, big, bloated pot to boot.

You should almost never worry about cold-callers. As you said they call you litterly with everything...If they hit and you have an overpair, you or they will get stacked. Its as easy as that. I only "delighted" to keep on playing my jacks, if no over hits or i have a set. Otherwise i will let it go.
I know you dont like JJ to go so easy, but maybe you can think in an other way about it. Lets say you pump 4 times a 100Raise in...3 times there is an over and you have 2-3callers, normally you can give it up and be disapointed.
But imagine, when you have an overpair/set, you gonna stack them if they hit middlepair or a gutshot etc....so you loose ~100 about 3-4times =-400 and win ~1500 the other time...
I can`t see you diesappointed anymore...
I know i say that often, but don`t cry crocodile tears after your very good/premium Hands...
Patience is everything at the lower buy-ins.

P.S.: If you make about 50$ in that buy-in (and your bankroll is ok) i would highly recommend you to move up to the 10$...They are still so soft and 7 of 9 players are usually fish...
