can you get affiliate links in a free blog?

I want to start a blog.on E blogger or Wordpress. Can you insert moneymaking links in your daily blog? like in the body of the message Or is that forbidden?
For instance if my blog is on fishing could I insert a link to a company like Cabella's or amazon for a book on angling?
Free is what I want and a blog to start off with

As far as I know there is no problem with this. I've seen loads of blogs that do it.

Yes you can do it. In fact, Adsense is built right into Blogger.
