Poetry Scansion

Believe it or not, this post was deleted from a poetry forum, so I'm looking for some help from the more poetical OOTers.

I do not want to prejudice anyone towards my interpretation, so I am going to hold off on any explanation until the results are in. What I would like is for people to read one of the versions (reading both might also bias the results) and then tell me how they scan it.

Draft 1:

<font color="white">stick out amid the shades of gray
that one more simple operation</font>

Draft 2:

<font color="white">stand out among the swarms of gray
that one more simple operation</font>
