I think you got a more than fair deal. You only have 30 BBs and he has like 45 or something. Thats not really big stack poker, and one stupid beat could kill you. You got MORE more than than an even split.

Bax, I think that is a fair deal, and congratulations on a great score. I'm sure the family is very happy

iiiiiiii would play it out as i am never a fan of deals, unless its ridiculously good. 325 would be ridiculously good of course, so if he REALLY wants to get the guaranteed win, id push for that. however, assuming im in your spot, id be fine settling for like 290ish and he can take the bracelet. but again, id play it out. holla

OP cannot be a huge favorite to win with the money that shallow. I would want somewhat more than OP settled for, given OP's description of opponent, and allowing opponent to take bracelet. 325K is a little ridiculous, but I would want significantly more than an even chop. If the title really has value in getting an endorsement deal or something, play for the title.

A lot of the amateurs in $5K event are fairly well off and are sort of buying a title to begin with or buying fantasy camp or whatever. So it is not suprising that some player would be as interested in the title as the money.

This would give me $287,132 v his $ 268,919.

That is a ridiculous deal but just about the minimum I'd take there. Still, vnh.

That's a pretty sweet deal for you and that is exactly how I think deal conversations should go. Congrats on the score bax.

No mention of the deal here. Interesting way of putting how things ended. Congrats on the windfall JB.

He suggested I give him the title, and in exchange he offered me $100k over 2nd place $. This would give me $287,132 v his $ 268,919.

$287K. Amazing....that's almost exactly the number that
I calculated.

You were correct to accept it. Its a good do for you, but
at the same time I don't think its unreasonable for him.
He got what he wanted, and he did not pay an
unreasonable price for it.

Congrats to you both.

I would never ask for $300k. Maybe that's a mistake but that seems like an amount that immediately leads to: "Are you [censored] serious? Let's play it out." I'd be amazed if our equity is even 275k, so I'd start around there.

Hes the one that offered the deal right? I don't understand.
