Not sure about turn play with JJ
Villain is 29/11/3.2
Hero has $330 Villain covers me Is it better to check/call from the turn? Last time I checked for pot control OOP on turn against this guy he went all in on me with who knows what. No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 6 players Converter Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG folds, Hero raises to $8, CO calls, 2 folds, BB calls. Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($25, 3 players) BB checks, Hero bets $22, CO calls, BB folds. Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($69, 2 players) Hero bets $50, CO raises to $150, Hero folds. Uncalled bets: $100 returned to CO. Results: Final pot: $169 |

Re: Not sure about turn play with JJ
standard fold
Unless you are prepared to call a big river bet then there is no sense in calling the turn. |

Re: Not sure about turn play with JJ
Villain is a solid player, so, I don't mind how you played this hand. Villain's raise here is CLEARLY a value bet with either a set (less likely) or 88 that made a straight (very likely).
He may still have 1010, and against a good, solid player, you..[censored], my boss just walked in...will only get a call. 1010 comes about enough for making this a reasonable bet. If you feel strongly enough about your game that you can lay JJ down if he pushes without getting sick to your stomach, then check/fold is good on this board. |
