so a lot of people were saying i'm too passive, can't win without cards, need to be more aggressive, test my opponents blah blah etc. i just played this match and i want to make sure i'm not overdoing it on the aggression. advice on any hand is appreciated but i'm especially curious about the two big pots i played where i shoved with what i thought was the best hand on the turn or river (#32 and #42). what do you think? is my play reckless or am i on the right track? let me know, i want to improve:

Well I gusss one thing I noticed every time to you have a hand you always bet and, that only gives your opponent who mostly folded to fold, call or playback, and it's hard to tell if he has a better hand. Every opponent is different slowplay him a bit, mix it up with the aggresion,don't always check when you don't have something, make some loose calls/bets so you could get reads from the guy as well, it sorta looks like you'r playing on autopilot. Other then that you had it hand 32, would've done the same thing everytime as well. Well now I wonder what others have to say about this, my advise is really vague.

I usaly check behind on hand 13

On hand 17 i usaly check behind and give up the pot, pretty bad flop to cbet.

dunno what u were trying to do on hand 18, I mean obviously you were trying to represent the flush but this guy has call station tendencys as u can see from hand 13. Its a small pot too, i could understand this if the pot was raised pf but its just to small to care about imo.

hand 22 i usaly bet the turn smaller, so i get payed off w/ a 7. He obviously limped with a medium or high ace calling that turn bet.

24 - very bad connected flop to be beting on. His big bet on the river obivously tells u he has something very good.

32 - He must of limped with TT or AJ maybe called you down with pocket 8s. I'd probly play the same way, but i do find more often that passive opponets wont call big bets without big hands so i guess i'd put him on qj and expect the sng to be done.

34 - I play much tighter in the bb, but i can see how this is +ev.

42, I play the same way. Guess he had an overpair sence this is like his second raise pf of the match.

overall this is how i generaly play, Maby raising less of the 52s type hands. Other than raising the small pots with weak hands and beting at some coridanted boards i think u played it fine.

I like your play in this one a lot. Notice how your getting paid off more when you make turn and river bets? A few things I noticed:

- Hand 13 I would've checked the river, but you got him to call with some crap pair so more power to you.

- The trip jacks hand was brutal. No way you could think you're behind. Just one of those hands where you lose chips and can't do anything about it. This was clearly the swing hand of the tourney.

- You're picking up a lot of small pots on the flop by betting when the board is scary. Even if you only break even or lose a little by doing this, you're more likely to get paid off when you do hit.

- Good fold on the K4 hand. He might be bluffing, but not worth calling unless you have some kind of reliable tell.

- Hand 18 was kind of a wierd bluff but I think it's ok because it sets you up to be called when he's holding any pair. I'd rather do this a little earlier, maybe in the forst 5 or 10 hands.

Overall, you're going to win more tourneys by playing this way than by playing passively. It also gives you good insight when you play opponents that play like this, and you can devise strategies on how to play at their weaknesses.

Good work - winning without great cards is one of the most important skills for play HU SNGs. You're far more likely to achieve it playing this sort of style than playing passively.

Next step: learn when this style is not appropriate...
