these are usually the same guys who say, "check to the river!" when they get someone heads up with 88, ie, they take advantage of the fact that so many people are dumb enough to go along with psychological cues.

i am more likely to call in this situation if i have a bluff-catcher type hand, as i agree it's usually a medium-strength hand at best.
