do consistent winners still make mistakes
I know that everyone makes a few mistakes here and there but do you guys that are beating the games regularly still find that you make mistakes through out your sessions??
I was playing 5-10 lhe at the taj for 4 hours tonight. and i thought of hands i could have played better and saved bb's here and there. can you still "beat" a game and have this happen? |

do consistent winners still make mistakes [/ QUOTE ] Well I sometimes miss and get some piss on the toilet seat occasinally but I think thats normal. The most costly mistakes usually include gambling without rubbers with overly promiscuous looking chicks from night clubs. |

Re: do consistent winners still make mistakes
Oh yeah, you can even crush a game and think of lots of hands you should have played otherwise, it is an extremely complicated game and very few get anywhere near to perfect, so nothing near perfect is required to beat it (by that I by no means imply it is easy, just that it is hard for your opponents as well).

Re: do consistent winners still make mistakes
Buddy, even the very best in the world make mistakes every session. It's a game of incomplete information, therefore, is impossible to play every hand 100% correctly. That's why we are always studying/learnin trying to improve to reduce the amount of mistakes made.

Re: do consistent winners still make mistakes
Even pros make mistakes. I have seen a few times when some pro makes a odd play and the announcers go ga ga about the unique play. No, they made a mistake.
The difference is that make one mistake a day instead one an hour. |

Re: do consistent winners still make mistakes
I believe there was a discussion in one of the forums a few months back about AER - Average Error Rate.
Now someone studied a handful of players, some really good, some break-even, some terrible. The good players on average made 3.7 mistakes an hour. Breakeven players I believe about 7.5 and terrible players 11.1 mistakes an hour (assuming 60 hands an hour). Now all you have to do is to determine the exact number of mistakes you make an hour and compare it to these numbers. Try to get your AER under 7 and you will be a winning player. |

Bad players at the casino make multiple mistakes in every hand, sometimes.

Re: do consistent winners still make mistakes
Poker is a GAME of mistakes. If you make less than your opponents, you will be a consistent winner. It's as simple
as that. This is why, as any pro will tell you, GAME selection is the most important concept in poker. You don't have to be a great player to win, you just need to know how good you are in relation to the other players. If you don't see a sucker at your table, you're it. |
