Hypotheticaly, say you have A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] which do you toss, the spade or the diamond?
Naturally, without a previous draw, ie, say you knew you already discarded one spade so you should keep the spade since there are fewer, it shouldn't matter which you discard. Anyone have any superstitions about suits or anything like that? After maybe 200 hands of Badugi online, a very small sample size since I only played a handful of hands to the end, I seemed to be wishing for red cards more than black. I know there is no merit in this thought but I was wondering what everyone else thought about this process. |

Chris and I were discussing this just last night and came up with a brilliant system. Previously, I had been tossing the card further to the right in 50/50's, but this was not working out well and I kept having chose the wrong suit, so I needed a superior strategy that would give me a higher probability of hitting. So we discussed and came up with a ranking for suits: Black, Blue, Red, Green. To the untrained eye this may look like random ordering, but I can assure you that it was well thought out and there is a reason (and in some cases, multiple reasons) why this ordering was chosen. The idea, obviously, is to always keep the higher suit in case of what some call 50/50's (we now know better, of course).
I used this strat today for the first time and had FAR greater success than with my previous system. And while I have only got a chance to use it twice thus far, it has already yielded me the 2nd nuts and a rough 7, both winners. I feel very confident it will continue to produce stellar results. Watch out for this method. It's a popular bastardization of the correct blue/green/black/red order.

To be somewhat serious, you're supposed to keep the card you drew so that very observant opponents will think you improved your hand.
Not that important online though. |

I can't get over how good the games are on Doyles Room. I love the game so much I want to play all the time.
I hope badugi booms so I can get a game at the casino nearest me. JMB |

[/ QUOTE ] No, you're supposed to draw two to A234 badugi, then pick up the two you threw away. This one works better against very unobservant opponents. |

if you guys heard our rationale behind this ordering you'd find it offensive, but the only thing i find more offensive is people claiming this system doesn't work.
