I have like $16 behind. Villain seems decent so he must have a hand after he called my potbet on a blank. |

Any reads on villain? Why did you reraise PF?

Re: $25NL - TPTK facing bad river
PF reraise is thin. If you think he'll steal with a wide range preflop or is weak postflop I think it's ok.
The river sucks because like a million hands just got there. I think it's a fold but I probably call when I'm actually at the table. Again, reads help, but I think it's close. |

PF raise out of position?
As played, if you are going to lead on all streets, make a block bet on the river and fold to a re-raise |

Re: $25NL - TPTK facing bad river
Preflop re-raise size is spot on - but don't re-raise crap hands like AJ OOP save it for big hands like AA/KK/AK (or stuff like suited connectors once you can read villains better)
Flop goot - Turn goot. We can't block the rver we don't even have half a PSB. Just push the rest in - if he has AA/KK/QQ/JJ it sucks (but goes to show why you don't raise crap like AJ OOP) if he has AK or AQ or lucked out somehow and rivered you he's paid waaaaaaay too much to get there so even if we pay him off we still made money in the long run if he has JT he's a lucky SOB - make a note that *he* calls with dominated crap and stack him someime later. as played I call but don't like it. |

Re: $25NL - TPTK facing bad river
Villain raises about 30% PF, maybe 70% from button, so my reraise was based on a read. I expected villain to fold PF, so I didn't mind my bad position.

[/ QUOTE ] thats all cool bananas but realise that when you do this you aren't playing your cards. (remember that contrary to popular belief poker is NOT a card game) Generally speaking people don't call re-raises down here without the goods - and AJ is not going to beat most of the hands he is calling with so shut down after the flop cos your TPTK compared to his calling range is little more than a bluff catcher. |
