First hand of the tourney. No real reads, but chances are villains an ape. Should I bet the river here and if so what do I do if he c/r?

I take the safe route and check behind. You have the bottom end of the straight in an unraised pot. The pots already big, i hate to play the river so weak, but it's early and no reads.

I would definitely push the river. If you happen to be playing against the one $6 tourney player who is capable of checking a flush when first to act on the river then he gets your chips. His range is still fairly wide and you're getting paid off by plenty of worse hands.
