15-30 questionable JTs
Wynn 15-30, 8 handed at the moment
I don't have a very good read on the villain (CO) here, but he seems typical with the capability of occasional bouts of agression. I've also get the impression that he is the type that is capable of "big laydowns" and really hates the feeling of paying off a better hand. The table has been in a sorta loose-passive spell recently (often 4-5 players calling PF), so I don't think my UTG limp is as bad as it looks (but feel free to tell me otherwise). I feel like I might have borked this on every street. PF Hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero calls, all fold to CO, CO raises, folds to hero, hero calls. Re: 15-30 questionable JTs
I think you should have either check/raised or maybe even bet out at the flop. The board is dangerous and you probably have the best hand, so you don't want to screw around playing this one passively.
Just my opinion... |

Re: 15-30 questionable JTs
I don't mind the c/c on the flop but I like a lead on the turn or something. It would be disasterous for this to get checked through and give just about anything that doesn't have you beat a free card.

Re: 15-30 questionable JTs
So you checked two streets with the best hand, then when he finally got there, NOW you bet?

So you checked two streets with the best hand, then when he finally got there, NOW you bet? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I know it looks pretty fishy - I'm sure I screwed it up somehow. But here was my thinking: when the flop hit, I figured I was likely ahead. But if he's got a club it's likely to be a big one. I'll never get him to lay down his draw, but he could get tricky and aggressive with it and make the hand really hard to play - I risk either folding the best hand or paying too much to call him down with top pair, no kicker. Also, if he's got a club, he's almost definitely going to keep betting when I check to him, so I know that he'll pay at least one bet per street. Sure, I risk giving a free card sometimes, but the pot's not huge and it seems like a reasonable tradeoff. When the 4th club comes on the end I feel like it's too weak to check-fold - that he could fire the last barell with lots of hands here. So, I bet out figuring that maybe I can get him to lay down an overpair because my play looks like a timidly-played flush draw (plus it's a super-easy fold if he raises). Where did I go wrong with my logic? |

fold pf check raise flop/ if he goes to 3, call and fold to turn bet. If he just calls bet turn and check fold river. |
