Damn cats wake me up every morning
We don't let the cats (2) in our bedroom when we sleep because they breathe all over our faces and try to lick us before we need to wake up. Instead, they sit outside our room scratching the door non stop starting at about 5am. It is fricken annoying!!!
We've tried a few different things: 1) Put double sided sticky tape on the floor and wall... didn't bother them at all. 2) Set a large cooler FULL of water in front of the door... they move it! 3) Threaten to put them in a satchel and throw them into the Mississippi river... they call our bluff every time. My mom suggested putting tin foil down on the floor outside our door... I doubt this would work. My dad added that we should hook the tin foil up to a voltage source... This may work. Any other ideas? |

I suggest you get a beach ball and come out with the fury of hell and belt them with it when they do this. This worked with my cat.

Re: Damn cats wake me up every morning
Lock cats in the room with their litter box, food and water each night.
And your cats must be on steroids if they can move a cooler full of water. That would probably weigh over 100 pounds. |

So you resorted to terrorizing your poor little kitty? I like it. Our cats are terrified of the tool attachement on our vacuum cleaner. That should do the trick. |

Re: Damn cats wake me up every morning
The tin foil thing has worked with any cat's i've seen. People tend to do it when they're going on vacation and don't want the cats going on certain pieces of furniture. Just crinkle it up a bit and leave some pieces right outside the door/taped to the door.

[/ QUOTE ] That won't work because their litter box is in a closet (we live in a small 1-bedroom apt.) I agree that they must be on the juice. I had to lift the cooler out of the bathtub for my wife because it was too heavy. |

Re: Damn cats wake me up every morning
Simple cat training technique:
1. Leave your bedroom door open 2. Get a small water pistol and leave it by your bed within reach. 3. When they try to lick you or breath on you or wake you up. Squirt them with water. This will take about a week, but then you don't have to close the bedroom door and they'll learn not to do the bad behavior. Works with anything. |
