Default Now I\'ll do some calling

Mebbe not as good as Cash's, we'll see. Villans are unknown.

PokerRoom 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
3 folds, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (4 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets, Hero calls, MP2 folds, Button calls.

Turn: (3.50 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, Hero calls...

I'll let the wolves tear at the carcass a bit before I post my thoughts.

I don't like it. If you had at least one more behind you, I would like it somewhat. As it is, there is no guarantee that btn is overcalling here. I would take the almost sure extra bb from the SB now, especially since another puppyfoot on the river will probably kill your action.

I dont mind that, keep the 3rd player in if possible. If you do, you'll get 3 bb now, and hopefully SB leads the river, you'll get 4 then and bt probably folds, so 7bb is a likely scenario. Plus you might get lucky, maybe bt raises the turn.

If you raise the turn, then you'll probably drive out the button right now, he'll only be getting 3:1. sb hopefully calls, then sb will probably check/call your river bet. A turn raise blows your cover, I'd be thinking 'flush' if that happened to me. You'd be shifting into high gear too early,

I like your line,

If he has the A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] he's not going away. If a club hits a river, you're not going away. If he has any club, he's not going away. If he is a standard opponent, he's not going away. After your turn call, he may just c/f the river if he has nothing. Most villains will call our raise here and c/f the river if they don't have a club. I think we're missing value here.

edit: we also probably expect button to CC with a club 8 or better.

in the absence of reads we assume our players are calling too many bets and not folding nearly as often as they should.

and also, don't assume your opponents will react as YOU would react. that leads to so many bad decisions in these games.

I'd like it if I could assume that:
A. Button calls one and folds for two on every opportunity.
B. There is a better-than-average chance that SB will attempt to checkraise his top pair on a non-club river.

If you don't raise the SB can't reraise and then you can't cap the turn and river.

Grunch:
By calling on the turn SB and the rest of our opponents are going to discount you having a flush. You are also giving button the opportunity to raise or call. AA, or other PP do not seem probable because of the preflop play. AcX in the hand of sb or button is our nightmare but I would like to see Ac hit the board or any other club while I chant "don't let the board pair".
