Re: per se BBV
ski,
"Can anyone who has been to a $600 place tell me what is so much better about it then a $60 place?" Three random reviews I grabbed off the web. Read them. Per Se review El Bulli review French Laundry review Read Soul of a Chef for a great book explaining in more detail what you're paying for. |

[ QUOTE ] It's also dinner at 5:30 (that will probably be done around 9) followed by figuring out what to do until midnight and whatnot. [/ QUOTE ] It's your fiance, it's her birthday, it's new year's eve and it's a $1500 dinner. You BETTER be getting laid at SOME points. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: per se BBV
skip L'atelier at the Four Seasons in Manhattan and fly out to the one at the MGM Grand, I bet you can still book there, plus gambling = winner.
Robuchon > Alain Ducasse > Gray Kunz > Thomas Keller = Daniel = Jean Georges. |

ND,
L'atelier at the MGM is the kiddie version. If you're going there, do it right and go to Joël Robuchon at The Mansion. |

[/ QUOTE ] until i read the per se review you posted, i was totally siding with ski, but after reading that i think not only that that meal is worth the $600 per person, but that being a high stakes food critic might be the best job ever |
