Default a fold vs an unkown

I dont know this villain at all. I also think that I have a good enough read based on his line alone to pitch safely.

Would you care to elaborate. It seems to me like you are gambling/guessing here i.e. you make a play against the odds.

villain limp reraised from the sb in a 1/3 structure, which is either a big hand or total air. I capped as much for value as to force him to play postflop straightforwardly.

When he checked the flop I bet in tempo, just expecting him to call or fold. If I was still intent on showing this hand down, I should clearly have just checked behind and called the big street bets.

I think that line is much more expensive than betting out and assuming that he's going to play straightforwardly though.

With the line he took, I don't think he has less than TPTK. Good fold.

I missed that. Still I pay off an unknown after the donk plays I've seen. But your fold is not as bad as I initially thought.

You could check the flop and call down - may be a better line.

If your going to fold to a flop raise, then you need to get a new pair of panties or check the flop with the intention of calling down. NOBODY believes a blind battle cap, he could be check-raising with 77.

I find it hard to believe that 77 limpreraises from the small blind, and then checkraises a double broadway flop after I capped preflop.

I think it would take more of a read to call this down then to pitch it.

Good fold IMO. Given the action, I don't believe there are enough hands that you are ahead of here to justify going any farther against an unknown.
