Just because a "stance" may be "fashionable" in "pop culture", doesn't mean that one can't agree with the position anyway.

Arguments like this make me cry. It's as if the very fact that something is "mainstream" or "in popular culture" robs that point of view of any validity. The same thing happens when people talk about Metallica - you'll eventually get one ignorant ahole who will pipe up and say things like "yea, you're just saying old Metallica is better than new Metallica because it's what everyone says, it's such a cliche!" I say with complete honesty that I do not think Paris Hilton is hot. No I am not gay. I'm not big on white girls in the first place, but her eyes look weird / freaky, and her face has a funny shape. Hot people don't have freaky eyes and weird faces.
