$3.30 Stars Re-buy
This hand came up a few levels afer the bubble burst. I feel like I had a LAG image as I had just been caught, but was lucky to double up w/QJ vs TT and stole the pot immediately before this one. Then this hand came up:
Poker Stars No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t1000/t2000 (Ante: t100) 9 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: t146882 UTG+1: t28120 MP1: t62621 Hero: t35222 MP3: t35748 CO: t60685 Button: t259795 SB: t63747 BB: t42350 Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 folds, Hero raises to t6000, 3 folds, SB calls t5000 (pot was t9900), BB folds. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (t14900, 2 players) SB is all-in t57647, Hero ???. My thought was he was insta-shoving here as a standard play and not putting me on a pair or better. I didn't have much of a read on the SB as we hadn't tangled yet other than it was his BB that I had stolen on the previous hand. I think my stack is sufficient enough here to lay the hand down, but if he was drawing as well or had only marginally hit the flop I am in good shape with a lot of outs. What is the right play here? |

Re: $3.30 Stars Re-buy
Call. He can have the flush. But if he doesn't you have 9 outs to the nut flush. And if he as a marginal hand like KT and is making a move to steal the pot, you have 14 outs.
Besides that you have a M of 9 so if you want to get to the final table (where the real money is) you have to risk something. I think this is a good chance to risk. If you fold you'll have t29222 but if you call and win you can have over t70000 and be in good shape instead of just surviving. |

Re: $3.30 Stars Re-buy
My thought pattern was in line with everyone here. I needed a bigger stack to make the real money, this was a good chance to increase the stack.
I called, and he held 6c4c and had flopped the flush with his loose call pre-flop. I didn't catch the 4th club. Thanks for the help. |

Re: $3.30 Stars Re-buy
Well that's a new one, I didn't include flopped flushes in my range because well....
I've never seen a flush played like that. |

Re: $3.30 Stars Re-buy
call. unlikely he plays a flush like that. if he does, make a note because it's almost always a pair, pair + FD or some other weak hand.
