Re: online superstar got smoked in 4k-8k......
Just to clear things up. Nick never dealt at Ace Point. His first forays into the NYC poker scene were as a player and he did very well. I've seen him kill 5-10 NLH and 10-25NLH games at clubs.
For those that think he was stupid for playing this game. Why? He played 100-200 LH on Stars and beat the game. He played 50-100 NLH on UB and beat the game. He played 50-100 NLH live and destroyed the game. He played a 200-400 mixed game at foxwoods (with Noli and Darden HOE) and was a big winner. All of that before he won the WPT event. The kid never hit a real obstacle in his poker career. If he never takes a shot at a bigger game how will he ever know where he can hang? This is the same road every one of these guys took to the top. As far as sitting down in a shorthanded game with David Oppenheim...maybe not the best choice of games. But if it's true it makes more sense that as another poster said there was a 3rd player who was supposed to be a fish, and he only had a piece of his own action so it was a small hit. |
