anyone get away from second set in massive pot HU?

I thought this was a good post and helps low limit players like me understand the game a little better. I was wondering if you could answer a question? I here pot control a lot in this thread and I understand the concept, but doesn't sticking to this as a hard rule make your hand more face up. ex everyone said that the OOP could not have AKs because he would have called for pot control.
