They did it for 360, so with PS3 being more limited, I'd guess it'll happen again. You still have to get to the store when it opens (or before) to be one of the preorder people to get a system.

  Last Saturday night at 2am, I drove to towards a Toys R Us that was doing presales. It was in the upper 40's, and I saw 15 cars, and about 5 tents and several people camping out to just put down a deposit order. All I can say, this new console will be so rare to find around the country, you'll feel lucky just to see one at a friend's house.
