Re: Jamie Gold Responds to $12 M WSOP Lawsuit
There is another thread that lists a link to the court documents. If you want the "real story" according to Leyser, read the docs.
It's too bad that Gold appears to be trying to get out of paying this. Lots and lots of players have backers, even champions. When Tom McEvoy played some tournaments after winning the WSOP he had backers - and paid them immediately. When Hans "Tuna" Lund took backers for a Super Bowl Of Poker sat. and won, then won the main event, he paid his backers - immediately. If Gold has a deal with a partner here - it will come out in court, however, the "discovery" period pretrial isn't even over until March of 2007...................could be a long wait. [ QUOTE ]
This is where I think Leyser simply didn't isn't 'deserving' of $6M. [/ QUOTE ] glad Im not going to be making any deals with most of you people. In the poker world, people being able to count on your word is a pretty big thing. If they cant do that, you are going to find yourself in a tough spot. Who cares what you think he deserves. There was an agreement for 50/50, Leyser did his part, and then you want to be like, you know what, Im going to give u what I want, [censored] the deal. who cares how much it is, if you have a problem paying half of your winnings, then dont make the [censored] deal. how hard is that to comprehend? You make a deal for 50/50, then you owe 50/50. |
