Believing in things without valid evidence and refusing to look at actual evidence that disagrees = religion.

That's a lot less than a religion. That's a daily occurence in almost everyone's life.

"Do I look good in this outfit?"
"Why'd that other guy flip me off, I was driving fine?"
"I'm pretty popular at work."

If you want to down-define religion cause you like making ludicrously broad comparisons, you have two options:

a) pick a different word

or

b) get jumped on for talking like an idiot.

For some reason, religious people like to think redefine the word so that they can call other people religious.

Its an odd phenomenon.

This guy also equates science with religion. Cause, you know, there's no evidence for thinks like global warming. Its completely the same as believing in a God.

BTW, I am a right wing nutjob and I don't believe in a God.

Sounds like a contradiction in terms. A paradox.

In case you missed it: what you said is REALLY dumb.

[/ QUOTE ]

Except for the part where it's completely and totally true. Believing in things without valid evidence and refusing to look at actual evidence that disagrees = religion.

[/ QUOTE ]

You have evidence that global warming isn't happening? This I have to see. Please reference peer review scientific journals only.

P.S. good luck finding something that supports your stance.

Yes, I've seen the propaganda from both sides plenty. Sadly, both sides are so full of propaganda that you can't actually find many useful facts. And yes, plenty of people ARE saying, "It's the apocalypse."

You should try listening to what the scientific community saying.

Edit: With regard to climate change, for instance, the other "side" is just big oil's paid lackeys spouting stuff to muddy the waters:

They're not the ones doing the research.
