Default Where are your eyes when the cards hit the table?

When the deal lays out the flop, do you prefer to watch it unfold or do you instead watch for other people's reactions while they see the cards?

I do the same thing; I've yet to catch a glance from one of the other blokes when they re eyeing the flop.... but as far as any advantage this gives me...

My eyes are on the flop right away. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm a big donk when it comes to live poker.

I'm looking at the last person to act on the flop but making it look like I'm looking at the flop, same as everyone else.

If there is an obvious player who has tells, I will look at him. Otherwise, I look at the flop and give reverse tells. And this is actually harder than you think depending on my hole cards.

It's easy with a low PP for example because you are looking for one card. If it comes, stare at it and then look at the other players. If it doesn't look right at your chips and then the other players.

A smart thing to do is pay close attention to how players react to the flop *when you are not in the hand*. Noone will notice you doing this because they are busy, but it is the best way to figure out who is going to give a tell/who you should be watching when you are in the hand.

Still under my eyebrows and on both sides of my honker.

I wish I cared enough about the game to do the right thing and look at my opponents' reaction and then look at the flop but that's not what I do. I am in fact looking right at the flop. But I play limit, so it's no big deal.

Before I switch to NL, I better start getting better at spotting tells and masking my own tells. For the past 10 years that I have been playing limit HE, tells have had next to no impact on my playing decisions or poker results.
