Chip Reese only looked at 1 card when raising Ivey, the ace of spades. After the hand he looked down again and the second card was a king.
Awesome. |

Limit poker doesn't lend itself to dramatic television.
"Holy cow, he three-bet on a draw out of position!" |

I'm happy that the final table was NLHE. If it was HORSE, I wouldn't have watched, even with the incredible lineup. Seriously, limit is terrible enough to watch, throw in a couple split games on top and it is crap TV. PLO is barely watchable.

[ QUOTE ] Clearly Ivey does not like to be interviewed. Among the top pros he has the lease amount of exposure. [/ QUOTE ] Dude, Chip Reese has been at a TV featured table twice in...forever (2004 ToC, 2006 HORSE). [/ QUOTE ] Chip was at a WPT final table a few years ago, I just can't remember which season - probably season 2. |

This was the ME. For TV's sake I am glad they made it NLHE. Who besides the diehard poker fans is going to watch it? I would of but it would of been a struggle. If you look at it one way it adds to all the skills you have to have to win a tournament like that. Not only all of the other games in limit form you also have to excel at big bet poker. Just a thought.

So, let me get this straight:
Watching limit poker is boring, but watching a bunch of people fiddle with their chips, staring at each other for hours on end isn't? Sigh. |

Jim Bechtel was looking very classy. I was expecting the truck-stop getup he was wearing in 1993.

I enjoyed Chip Reese's false tell (I think), when he took a long look at his hole cards, as people often do with a big hand, and then pushed all-in heads-up. This caused a fold by a superior hand.
