Re: Which NBA player will have the best career?
Shaq by a mile. Duncan is second. Lebron has a slim shot to be the answer ten years from now. Chris Paul is good but c'mon. I think D-Wade minus Shaq is not the same as D-Wade with Shaq so I don't think he'll put together a career that merits his inclusion.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I freakin hate Shaq but I had to vote for him. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, why would anyone vote for lebron? [/ QUOTE ] I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, so I'll bite. Because he's not even 22, still has room to grow, and could come very close to an average triple double for a 2 or 3 year stretch. I haven't voted yet. I think it's a tough call because it's an already proven player versus just speculation. I really wish Shaq would've played with better competition at the 5. When he reached dominant Shaq status, Ewing, Hakeem, Robinson, etc. were all in the late stages of their career, and no one was really filling that void. I can't really hold that against Shaq though. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I was still hungover when I wrote that. I did not really get my message across. I think it's Shaq by a very large margin. While there is so much potential for Lebron there is just so many things that can happen between now and the end of his career. Look at someone like Grant Hill. |

Re: Which NBA player will have the best career?
Dwight Howard would go ahead of D-Wade in an all-NBA draft IMO. Chris Bosh would be close.
Good big men are so valuable/rare. I mean....is D-Wade that much better than Arenas, Pierce, T-Mac, J-Rich, etc.? |

This poll is ridiculous. One of these guys was the most dominant center of his era. won 4 Rings. The next Best is Duncan, with 3 rings and was almost as dominant. Kobe and Wade both will have to win a title w/o the best player of our era on the team with them. Lebron has the potential to be Jordan. [/ QUOTE ]Wade was clearly the best player on his team last year imo. |

Shaq and its not even close. Maybe if something drastic happens over the next years, Duncan can jump ahead of Shaq, but it would have to be drastic. To assume that Lebron or Dwade is going to win 4 or 3 rings respectively is really asking a lot. Oh and Kobe...eh I think the jury is still out, but he is only 28 so he has a shot. [/ QUOTE ] I dunno...Shaq has had 2 of the other guys in this poll on his team when he won. Duncan has had good players, but never anyone that great(Robinson was clearly past his prime). |

[ QUOTE ] I freakin hate Shaq but I had to vote for him. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, why would anyone vote for lebron? [/ QUOTE ] In 1989, someone could have made this poll and asked who would have the best career: Bird, Magic, or Jordan. Obviously, the people who picked Jordan would have been picking purely on potential rather than accomplishments. Same thing with picking Lebron now. Those picking him are guessing that he becomes the next Jordan, like he's been forecast to be since he was a sophmore in HS. |
