Default 50NL - AQ against flop raise

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

BB ($50)
UTG ($91.85)
MP ($22.35)
CO ($52.08)
Button ($161.29)
Hero ($56.50)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, MP calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero (poster) raises to $2.25, 1 fold, MP calls $2, CO calls $2.

Flop: ($8) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets $5, MP calls $19.85 (All-In), CO folds, Hero calls ??

Zero read on this guy, he had just sat down (with a short stack). I figured he limp called PF so my kicker is good, but I'm not beating much though, AJ, AX. But is he pushing a bad ace or a some kind of combo draw hand? I'm only getting 2-1, so I have to be right here fairly often (I'm so bad at math I don't know the exact percent off hand, I should work on that)

This is probably very simple hand, I just have trouble against these short stack raises on the flop.

thanks

Starvs-

Raise more preflop out of the blinds. AQo sucks OOP. I am just completing at a table full of unknowns, depending on table conditions I will raise this preflop, but not often.

Why just a little more than 1/2 pot on the flop? Bet more on the flop, call shortie's all-in.

Given that he's a short stack I like the call but I just started playing NL. How deep is he before you fold?

starvs,

In my experience, this guy is pushing with a large enough range here that you have to call. Ax, QJ, etc. are the most likely holdings and you can always catch your 2 pair or running flush if he has A9 or something.
