56 is not the kind of hand you want to play with against a short stack. That concept just makes the rest of the play and critique of that play somewhat pointless. There is little to do in the area of decisions against a short-stack.

Standard with exact odds on the turn. If he bet much more and with not much behind, I would find a fold.

I would raise a little bigger preflop (4BB + 1BB per limper as a minimum here).
On the flop, I think a check is automatic, as everyone will have checked to you as the pre-flop raiser, so you can't assume their checks are weak. Take the free card and hope you make your straight. As played, you have to call the short-stack push and SB's turn bet, but I think betting the flop is pretty bad here. |
