Western Union does not allow gambling deposits online/over-the-phone because of the credit risk. Go to a physical Western Union office with cash in hand and you should not have any problem.

NETeller is still your best bet. Try to resolve problems with them. E-checks is your second best option. If you can get some friend to transfer to you that is likely to work too.

yeah, I would call neteller again and find out what's up and explain that you just want to transfer money to pokerstars so that you can actually play.

ask to speak to a higher manager if you feel you are getting run-around and explain that you are just trying to open an account there and don't what the deal is and that now you are a little bit bothered that they say they are going to take a month to investigate and you're annoyed that your money is being tied-up for so long.

Be really polite and give it a shot.

Probably won't get you anywhere. But perhaps you can get a sympathetic ear that will work with you.

Weird stuff happens though.
I tried to sign-up at a poker-site and they said my account was denied because I had already signed-up several accounts there from my ISP supposedly.
I had never been to the client before that day nor had any attempted sign-ups (they had no skins either).

I have no idea why I was denied nor why they thought I had already made several attempts at accounts there.

This obviously didn't hurt me like your situation. I just decided not to play there and no big deal.
But it does indicate that some goofy stuff happens on the internet I guess and these sites trying to be 'secure' end up seeing some weird things apparently.

Well for now I think I'm just going to have a friend transfer me $100 and I'll play a ton of $5 STTs tonight to hopefully work my way up quickly.

I am a bit concerned about my credit, so perhaps I will look into that...theres absolutely no reason that I could think of that I'd have bad credit.

I have emailed Neteller...I'll post their response here.

Thanks for all of the help and advice.

To answer your earlier question, yes, you'll be able to withdraw to neteller even if you initally fund your account via having a freind transfer. That is once you have a neteller account open to which to withdraw.

FirePay: It'll be gone from the site entirely, US or not.

If you mail support and ask for details of how to send a wire transfer, you should be able to use that. The minimum deposit is $1k, and it'll take a couple of days to clear, butit's a good way to send decent amounts over if you are having trouble with everything else.

Dear Mr. Fisher,

Thank you for your E-mail.

We have determined that your NETELLER account might be linked to an existing
account that is currently under review by NETELLER. A temporary hold has
been placed on your account to ensure your account's safety while we
investigate the matter. You will receive an email from NETELLER's
investigations department regarding the status of your account once the
investigations is complete.

Should you have any questions or feel you have received this email in error,
please contact NETELLER Security, available 24 hours a day. We appreciate
your patience and cooperation.

Thank you for choosing NETELLER.

Best regards,
NETELLER Security

Neteller is only a temporary solution. They've stated they'll comply with the law.
Why do people keep suggesting to use them?
I was a Firepay user, and almost had signed up with Neteller when they 1st released they were wimping out. I refuse to give them my business for a few months until they close shop to the USA.
I'm seeking alternative funding routes myself, but I don't want to bother with a company that has already stated they are on the way out.
