It is not a movie, but I have to recommend "Pink Floyd in Concert: Delicate Sound of Thunder". It was a live concert that was filmed at Nassau Coliseum back in the late 80's.
Unfortunately, this concert is not availiable on DVD. (It was originally offered on VHS and Laserdisk) ![]() |

Koyaanisqatsi [/ QUOTE ] A lot of people here have different definitions of "best" than I do. This movie, and Jacob's Ladder, and The Wall, all make me want to kill myself when I'm NOT stoned or tripping or whatever. Watching them while impaired is borderline dangerous for some people. When I think of "best" I think of "fun" like Dazed and Confused, etc. Many of these movies belong in the "Movies that will completely [censored] with your head while stoned" thread. |

I'm happy to see people still have such an incredibly strong reaction to this movie. Gives me hope for the human race, which is not one of my strengths. It was definitely a hell of a good movie, and I wish more people today would see it. I think it would definitely twist your mind a bit when stoned, because it's pretty profound and moving. I dunno about kill yourself kind of thing, but you'll be trippin' pretty hard.
The Wall and Jacob's Ladder definitely hit you hard too. So much so that though I absolutely love Jacob's Ladder, I bought it two years ago and still haven't taken off the shrink wrap. I bought The Wall longer ago than that. They are really great movies, but ... you just really have to be in a special mood to watch them without wanting to jump off a bridge afterward. In years, I haven't been in a mood that good. Those movies are so good that they're their own best advertisement against themselves. It's not easy to be moved like that, in that direction. Not unless you have a way better life than I do. |

I imagine The Passion of the Christ would be pretty damn affecting if stoned.
And I don't say that flippantly. |
