Default Softest games I\'ve ever seen.

Like many, I have spent the last few years playing online. Most of my time was spent at the Party 2/4 and 3/6 games; I have logged over 800k hands. Lately, i've started playing BM casinos again; fortunatly, there are several here in KC.

I just came back from Ameristar 3/6 , and I was really surprised. This may have been the softest game I've ever ssen. Very little preflop raising; a lot of any ace play and chasing. Occasionally, the chasers would hit, but that is what keeps them chasing.

I had a similar experience at Harrah's here in KC a few weeks ago. Did I just stumble into a couple of honeypots, or are the BM games that soft? I've seen tougher play at Party .5/1.

Any info on the tournament scene in KC from any other locals? At what BM levels do the games toughen up? What would be comprable to the 2/4 on Party?

Good luck all,

Fitz

Just FYI the play level at 3/6 live is about equal to .25/.50 online. If you can beat 10/20 online for 3bb/100 you can beat 30/60 - 60/120 live for at least 1bb/hr.

Kansas City has some great action at Harrah's and Ameristar. Argosy is starting to pick up on their N/L but you cant beat Harrahs for constant action. The best structure tourni in KC is the 11:00 a.m. Sat N/L tourni at Argosy. $100 buyin $2500 chips 30min blinds. Not bad for a non-Vegas tourni.

I haven't played live above 5/10. Six years ago, I was barely able to beat the live 3/6 games. Over the lsat couple of years, I've averaged 1.5 to 2 BB per 100 at 2/4 at Party. I'm seriously thinking of trying the 15/30 at Ameristar.

I'm not a very good NL player, but I do like to play NL tourneys occasionally. One of the things that has made the transition to BM games tough for me is the bankroll situiation. I have always kept a 500+ BB roll in Party as a security blanket. I can replentish the BR if needed, but it is a bit intimidating to think of sitting 15/30 with 1500 in front of me; that is only 50 BB. We all know bad swings can be much worse than that.

Thanks,

Fitz

Fitz -
The 15/30 at Ameristar is equally good, they are the same fish at 3/6, these just have more money - this is typical when moving up - you will find better players but you will also find fish with more money

I havent played the 15-30 at ameristar in a few months as the $2-5 NL action at Harrah's is in the same $/hr range for me and offers much less variance which I love

I need to go back to Ameristar, I still love the HOE mixed game, not sure if its going anymore but I enjoy the mixed games at the 10/20 limit (they also had these up in Des Moines and they were also good, not sure if they are going there anymore either)

I only played the 15/30 game one time so my experience may not be typical, but I found that most all of the players were decent handreaders and played ok postflop even if they were clueless about the fundamentals. Some of the players seemed pretty solid. The game for a while actually seemed very bad while two of the action players (who as I said were not terrible postflop) were eating dinner.

What would be the equivalent of NL (online vs B&M)?

NL the players are really bad, the only problem is that a game with no cap dries up very quickly, I know at foxwoods it took a year and a half for the 5-5 game ( with no cap) to dry up. u guys got a lot to learn about B&M, the 40-80 at the borgata was softer than party .50-1.00 over the last year. the players are atrocious.

Who the [censored] can beat 10/20 online for 3bb/100?

If this person exists I think he's more than a marginal winner at 30/60 live.
