Re: Offical Smash Bros Discussion
to wavedash in SSBM, you need to jump and air-dodge down and to one side in rapid succession. you would jump with X or Y, then press L or R while pushing the control stick to down-left or down-right. if done correctly, the effect is to make your character scoot along the ground. while you're sliding, you can attack or start a grab. it's good for lots of things: evading aerial attacks, confusion, covering ground quickly on a smash attack. wavedashing is most obvious with characters like Luigi, Ice Climbers, Samus and Mario. to play these chacters, wavedashing is pretty essential.
L-cancelling is basically hitting L just before you hit the ground while you're in an aerial attack. you recover a lot faster, saving valuable frames. it especially helps you avoid being grabbed once you hit the ground after an attack. |

Re: Offical Smash Bros Discussion
wavedashing- mainly used for mindgames (to fool your opponent), but with characters such as marth/luigi/iceclimbers it is a necessity. Wavedashing is done by shorthopping (orjumping), then immediatly hitting L or R in the air (airdodge) while simantanously hitting diagnoally right of left on the joystick.. Timing varies for each character but takes practice to get down. Once you have it down it is invaluable to your game.
L-canceling- Probably one of the most important aspects of ssbm. With out Lcanceling you cant be nearly as good of a player as someone who does. It cuts your lag time in half after hitting the ground. To do it you must hit L, or R, right as you hit the ground after a move... Again, timing will differ from each character as well as each move. Moves like links down air and gannons down air are probably 2 of the hardest to L cancel but after some practice you get the hang of it. Theres a whole lot of technical [censored] in ssbm gamecube which makes it such a great game.. Takes forever to master. GL with it. |

Re: Offical Smash Bros Discussion
Project 64 works fine... but Project 64K gives this error while starting:
Graphics Error Direct3D failed to initialize your HAL device make sure you have a properly configured 3D graphics card compatible with Direct3D 6.0 Failed to initialize graphics What a bitch... EDIT: Got it working by replacing the graphics DLLs from Project 64K with the new one from Project 64. |

[ QUOTE ]
kirby is very easy to use... obviously he is good but theres a reason why all the top players prefer jigglypuff if given the choice. pretty much jigglypuff is kirby but actually better (not worse contrary to popular belief) [/ QUOTE ] also contrary to popular belief -- you're retarded and think you're "DA BOMB" at a game in which you suck. Die. |
