NL200 - KK vs LAG C/R on Drawy Flop
This guy is 57/11/2 and he's pretty aggressive in blind or steal type scenarios. He's 3 bet me several times in SB vs BB battles, and I think he floats quite a bit. My image is probably that I'm FOS and run bad - I haven't shown down a winning hand in a long time and every flop has missed me. However, he did flatcall me down earlier with QJ on a two tone JTxx board, checking behind on a blank river. So either he's had the goods everytime vs me, or he's able to switch it up and call down sometimes instead of attacking.
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 5 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $212.70 CO: $233.65 Hero: $197 SB: $463.30 BB: $196.05 Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 folds, Hero raises to $7, SB calls, BB folds. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($16, 2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $15, SB raises to $61, Hero?? I think he's capable of playing a big T this way, a FD this way, a straight or combo draw this way, as well as JJ+ and the obvious sets or straights that are possible. Beat him to the pot? Make it ~$100 and see what he does? Flatcall and see what his turn action is? |

why wouldn't you pus here given the board?
Would he be more likely to have raised 77/88/TT pf than JJ /QQ type hands? True |

Re: NL200 - KK vs LAG C/R on Drawy Flop
I think he could 3 bet or flatcall any of those hands preflop.
I'm just asking if a push is the best option here. Lately it seems that I push when I should call and call when I should push, so I'm doubting my game a bit. |

[/ QUOTE ] On this flop, pushing is probably better, because he could easily perceive you to have some draw and call light. He could have the draw himself so you get it in as a small favourite with a lot of dead money. True |

Yeah, that was pretty much my thinking as well.

I would stove his hands as 66, 77, 88, 99, TT, T9s, FD+SD, overcards + FD, 87s....Against that range, I dunno, stove it. Probably just shove i think is the right play, maybe not.

I'd put him on a slightly narrower range or air a small % of the time, but shoving is still the best play here.

Re: NL200 - KK vs LAG C/R on Drawy Flop
A Float is when a guy in position frequently calls your flop bet intending to raise or bet the turn, at least that's my understanding. Basically - they always call your C-bet, then bet any turn when you check to them or raise your turn bet. A good defense against this is to C/R the turn if they've floated you a few times.

Re: NL200 - KK vs LAG C/R on Drawy Flop
When the pot is smallish, as it is here, my thoughts are always in the order fold, raise call. With a big pot, I consider raise first, call still last. Which does not mean that I never call.
If he has 9S 7S he is the favorite. But you have to think about who this is and how he plays. I read all the arguments for pushing here and I think they are reasonable but mainly because you are playing a very tricky and aggressive opponent. Given his history and his probable image of you, you can't play too scared. |
