The Politics forum already did this thread.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah but in here we can do this thread and just laugh at stupid politicians. In the politics forum I'm sure it would turn into a debate about what Anarcho-Capitalists think of Vietnamese prostitutes.

some ppl say this ad is playing on racial fears:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWkrwENN5CQ

FYI, Harold Ford is the democratic candidate for Tennessee's open Senate seat (the one Frist is abandoning) and he's black

People here are so stirred up about this one, and I just don't get it. It's ridiculous, and pretty funny. I laughed the first time I saw it. "Canada can take care of North Korea, they're not busy!" hyachchahcha

MA Governor's Race:

These ones aren't as extreme but since they were heavily aired in a huge governor's race.

Ad #1 -Deval Patrick loooooves rapists

"Have you ever heard a women compliment a rapist?"

Ad #2-Deval Patrick loooooooves cop killers

"While lawyers have a right to defend cop killers, do we really want one as our governor?"

The best part about the second one is how it sounds like its asking if we want a cop killer as governor, to which i reply a resounding yes.

[/ QUOTE ]

That first one is so obviously taken out of context. Surely someone can find the source video.

I don't even get it. He called a convict rapist "eloquent" and "thoughtful". #1 Hitler was eloquent. #2 This was when he was supporting Ben Laguer's attempt to get a DNA test to exonerate himself.

Deval Patrick spoke out on his behalf in trying to get this DNA test. He was doing it from a "hey we can know for certain where this guy did it, why not?" frame of mind not "this guy was 100% falsesly accused"

In the end, the DNA test proved Laguer's guilt and Deval Patrick had no further contact.
