The river fold is worse than the flop call.

if by "worse" you mean "better", then i agree.

I don't think it would be physically possible for me to fold on the river here to Max getting 13 to 1 odds that he has a worse 9, a big pair, or just feels like 3bet bluffing. I dont find him straightforward at all post flop.

The Ocho: Dean's reply is fantastic regarding your question.

Victor et. al: On the flop I'm getting 11:1 so I have the right price for a 4 outer. Unless he has QQ AA AQ I have at least 3 outs, plus my backdoor straight possibilities, plus in my mind some chance I have a clean 6 outer or rarely the best hand (he gets more out of line preflop than post in my experience, I agree with those that say he is straightforward postflop and a showdown monkey).

Ryno: After pairing on the turn my thoughts were similar to the flop - against a few hands I'm in big trouble, against most I have 5 outs, and now the chance that I have the best hand has gone up a little, and I'm now getting 7.5:1. I don't really like the raising for a free showdown play here because I think I'm behind too often and he will never fold a better hand.

On the river a pretty scary card hits, mostly because it brings in the flush draw, and he doesn't care at all. It's a live game and fairly passive postflop play overall, I thought this was about the easiest street despite its costliness.

Two of your pair outs are spades which put up redraws.

All of your backdoor straight draws require you making a gutshot on the river that you shouldn't be peeling the turn with.

This isn't even close IMO.

I am not quite sure why u even called the flop. I love to take one card off as well, but you had absolutely no legitamte draws....and you said that villian plays very straightforward postflop. After the flop call, I think u played it fine, although i would have paid to see his hand
