2/4 Doyles Room PLO Hand - River decision
Effective stack sizes for this hand are 600.
Villain in the hand has been playing quite aggressively, winning lots of pots without showing down many hands. I have J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the BB. Villain complets from the SB. 4 players. Flop is: T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain bets the pot. I decide to call. Turn(50) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain checks I bet pot. He quickly calls. River (150) A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain pots it. I? What hand ranges can we put the villain on here?
What hand would take the line he's taken? |

Re: 2/4 Doyles Room PLO Hand - River decision
If you choose for whatever reason to call the flop, Check the turn! The 66 takes away ALOT of equity from your hand. Betting also turns your hand into a bluff and allows a good aggresive opponent to play perfectly against you. Against an aggressive player inducing a river bluff is more valuable here.
Look how the hand went, he bet the flop, which could mean either air, 2 pair (J10/J2), set of 10's or 2's, some draw with QKA spades maybe? By the river how many of these do you beat? do you beat any? Can you see why calling the river is alot easier if you hadn't of bet the turn? |

I was the villain in this hand and was betting a missed combo draw. With AhxhQ9. I hated my line, but still thought the other guys call was bad. Thx for the input.

[/ QUOTE ] As villain, wouldn't your call on the turn OOP be questionable as well, especially when the board pairs? What's paying you off here on the river? You obviously called with the expectation of being able to collect implied odds (if not already behind), and now you're potting the river as a bluff hoping for a fold. Doesn't add up. I'm sucky at plo though, I could be wrong. Anyone agree/disagree with me? |
