Default Three Flush Studies

Comments on how I played these? Apologies if three hands are too many for one post -- I'm new here.

I intended a checkraise on the river, but then I chickened out, thinking that only an Ace high flush would possibly call. But that's stupid, isn't it? There are only three spades on board and many more flushes that I beat than lose to.

Was it wrong to bet low on the early streets, fearing a made/better flush? Was the river bet bad? Would a call at the end be bad?

Default Re: Three Flush Studies

Hand 1, as played I raise to about 10 or so and call an all-in. I don't like how you played the earlier streets though, I'd rather just bet 1 on the the flop, than check/calling a flop bet then leading the turn for the full pot, that line doesn't make much sense. I'd also value bet the river as many non-flush hands that you beat are likely to check behind.

Hand 2, Previous streets look fine, but i'd probably raise a little more to about 7-8.

Hand 3, your bet sizes are akward. I prefer closer to 3/4 pot flop/turn, and maybe around 1/2 pot on the river. As played, I'd just call the river, no value in pushing as only the K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] will call even though he only has ~6 behind. This is assuming that you have no reads.

Default Re: Three Flush Studies

hand 1 is worth a pot size raise.

hand 2 i probably go a little higher like 8.5

hand 3 i try to get it all in here. many other hearts will call because they have a better flush then the board is showing. some may call with no heart because hey how can they fold a flush. not to mention hes short stacked
